This little tradition began 25 years ago as a way to celebrate the summer solstice together, making the most of the longest day of the year. The name is a nod to past celebrations that famously involved tacos, but what it's always been about is good company, outdoors.
We'd love to see you! Please RSVP as soon as you are able. The earlier we hear from you, the better we can plan 🎉
We'll provide some food and beverage and will share details once we have RSVPs. You're welcome to bring any snacks or bevies you love, especially if you have specific dietary needs or favorites. If you plan to bring something, let us know in your RSVP so we can coordinate.
We'll be on grass, so bring your favorite picnic blanket or lawn chairs. Public restrooms are available nearby. Also, a summer solstice in Golden Gate Park has a personality of its own (some say the coldest winter is a summer in San Francisco), so check the forecast and dress in layers. You'll likely need a jacket and sunscreen. We like using this app on the day of: Mr. Chilly, since weather in the Outer Richmond can be a bit unpredictable. Pack for your comfort and you'll be golden. If you are not sure, reach out with questions!
